2019 Week 1 Newsletter
July 08, 2019Oh Hi,
The first day back at Black Bear Lake is always an incredible feeling that we long for all year long, but the first day back at our 25th Anniversary Summer Season is really something special! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since our 1st Opening Day, our first slushie, our first Color War Apache Relay and so many other firsts. We cannot wait for you to see all that we have in store for our campers this summer! With that said, we would like to wish a giant WELCOME HOME to all of our campers and staff. It’s amazing that although 10 months have passed, it is as if no time has passed at all. As our first busses rolled in on Day 1, old friends were reunited, new friends were made, and one thing was for sure…Black Bear Lake was ready to kick off its best summer yet! The smiles at Line Up said it all, as everyone was ready to make some incredible memories this summer full of friendship, adventure and spirit! For the many calls and emails…we want to thank you for your kind words about camp and how much FUN the children are having! Camp is certainly a team effort; one that involves many amazing and dedicated people. From the Office Staff, to Food Service, Transportation, Maintenance, Bus Drivers our Health Center Nurses and, of course, the Group Leaders, Counselors and Specialists in Sports, Swim, Arts, and Outdoors. Thank you for the confidence that you have placed in us. We understand that you are sending your child off to camp with great expectations. You expect a safe and happy place where they will have fun. But we promise you much more. Your child will make friends, learn skills, find adventure and along the way develop self-esteem, confidence and independence. And those things last a lifetime.
Yours in camping,
Ian
